dmvA was shortlisted for the AR House Awards 2025 for the project House VMVK II.
In a recent interview, Tom Verschueren spoke passionately about experimenting in teaching. He emphasized the importance of encouraging students to think further and to dare to experiment. He sees this process as essential for achieving unique and remarkable results.
Tom describes how he challenges his students from the very first semester to ask questions and explore alternative solutions. He encourages them to take risks and follow their curiosity—an approach he believes is crucial for innovative developments in architecture. In doing so, he highlights the power of a “radical analysis” as the foundation for experimental design, where he and his students explore the essence of material, form, and sustainability together.

On friday evening ‘Tegendraads’, the first exhibition in our Gallery Miss Pelters on the ground floor of our office opened its doors. Het Paradijs vzw uses the space on the ground floor and in the basement and shows work by Wies Dehert, Mieke Drossaert and Erna Cool.
Our design for the GlazenHuis in Lommel was highlighted in the Gazet Van Antwerpen! Among other things, the new experience center will house the international master’s program in glass art.
UCLouvain visited our office in Mechelen. We took them along some dmvA projects including Arts center nOna. Below a picture of the students on our rooftop!

Tom gave a lecture for Summer Talks 2024 at the University of Bochum on June 6. He spoke about “Urban Layers” and illustrated the approach of dmvA within a dense urban context.
